Jammu, Nov 5: A J&K policeman on Friday today got killed in an accidental fire at Malipeth in Kishtwar. The deceased selection grade constable has been identified as Ajit Singh, resident of Arnia, Jammu district.
SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Bhat said that the cop suffered serious injuries after his service rifle went off accidentally.
“He was rushed to the District Hospital Kishtwar. However, he succumbed to the injuries,” the officer said. Inquest proceedings in this regard have been initiated, he said.
