No Smoking Day|Students’ march stresses on healthy habits

On the International No Smoking Day, school children organized a march here to pitch for abolition of the menace from the society.

Nosmoking day, which is observed on second Wednesday of every March across theworld, is aimed at drawing attention to the health hazards of smoking.

   

Theevent was organized by Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Unified Martial Arts(JKAUMA) in collaborations with various city schools. The students assembled atPratap Park donning colourful uniforms, holding placards – “Smoking kills, Beproud to be a quitter.”

Severalsports experts interacted with the students and discussed smoking relatedhealth hazards.

The students later took outa rally to Ghanta Ghar to draw attention of people towards need for stoppingdrug abuse, particularly smoking.

The students alsointeracted with the media.
