Nasir reviews arrangements ahead of Martyr’s day function

A meet of party functionaries was held to review the arrangements and preparedness for observance of annual death anniversary of Madre Maharbaan Begum Akbar Jehan Abdullah here at party head quartersNawa-e- Subha, Srinagar, a NC spokesman said in a statement.

The meet was presided over by party’s provincial presidentNasir AslamWani and attended by various district functionaries.  On the occasion last touches were given tothe party programme to be conducted in view of the death anniversary of MadreMeharbaan being celebrated on 11th July, and the 13th July Matyrs day function.

   

Addressing the meet party’s provincial president NasirAslamWani said that the people of Kashmir had given warm and affectionate titleof Madre Maharban to late Begum Akbar Jehan Abdullah for her selfless serviceto the people of the state. “She had a faith that moved mountains. She alwayssupported the gigantic task which Sher e Kashmir had took upon himself.  She shall be remembered for her selflesselegant persona. Her political activism didn’t dwindle till very late in herlife. She was a repository of Islamic Knowledge. Her well honed and nuancedcomprehension of Quran supported her faith in the Sufis. It was her unflinchingfaith in the almighty that gave her the strength and resoluteness to face manywhirlwinds. Her persona will continue to inspire us,” he said.

The party leadership along with its functionaries andworkers are scheduled to offer congregational FatehaKhawani at NaseemBaghGraveyard of Madre Maharban at 10.00 AM in the morning on 11th of July. TheMajlis of Quran Khawani will also be held there. The party leadership willvisit the Martyrs graveyard at Khwaja Bazar on the 13th of July and will payfloral tributes at the Martyrs graveyard and offer FatihaKhawani there.

Among others state women’s wing chairperson ShameemaFirdous,district president Peer Afaq,  Er.SabiyaQadri were also present in the meet.
