Two women passengers injured after taxi plunges into gorge in Banihal

Two women passengers were injured after a taxi they were travelling in met with an accident on Khari- Trigam link road in Banihal sub division of Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

A police official said a cab (bearing registration number JK14A/1394) was on the way to Banihal from Trigam when it skidded off the road around 10 am at Udhala, leaving two passengers injured.

   

Soon after the incident, locals rescued both the injured and shifted them to PHC Khari and after administering first aid both were referred to Emergency hospital Banihal for better treatment.

The official identified the injured as Zeeba Begum (45) wife of late Abdul Subhan Naik of Chairwara Trigam and Hafeeza Begum, wife of Ghulam Rasool Khan of Kumla Trigam.

Police, he said, have taken cognisance of the incident.
