DIG CKR reviews security scenario in Ganderbal

Ganderbal: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Central Kashmir Range (CKR), Sujit Kumar Thursday reviewed the security scenario in Ganderbal and laid emphasis on strengthening the Police-public relations and asked the policemen to adopt a people-friendly attitude while discharging their duties.

A statement of the J&K Police issued here said that chairing a meeting of the police officers at District Police Office (DPO) Ganderbal, Kumar reviewed the security scenario, and law and order in the district and also the anti-drug drive besides issues related to day-to-day policing.

   

It said that during his first visit after assuming the charge of DIG CKR, Kumar also held an interaction with police personnel.

“Various issues were discussed related to a security scenario, status of crime in the district, its prevention and detection, drug abuse, and various aspects of policing besides public-oriented plans,” the statement said.

It said that Kumar appreciated the efforts of the Police in Ganderbal for maintaining law and order in the district.

The statement said that during the meeting, he also reviewed the overall security situation, and measures are taken to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the district.

It said that Kumar emphasised strengthening the Police-public relations, service-oriented policing to gain the confidence and trust of community members and to have a professional approach in dealing with counter-insurgency operations.

The statement said that the meeting was attended by SP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar, SDPO Kangan Yasir Qadri, DySP Headquarter Abdul Majid, DySP DAR Ganderbal Muzaffar Jan, DySP Police Control Room Ganderbal Manoj Kumar, and other senior police officers of the district.
