Residents of Shah-e-Hamdan Colony seek road repairs

Srinagar, Jan 7: Residents of Shah-e-Hamdan Colony at Zakura have expressed resentment against failure of authorities to undertake repairs of road in the locality.

“We are facing difficulties due to the deteriorating condition of the interior road in our area. The dilapidated road poses challenges for inhabitants, especially during rains when the road transforms into cesspool,” said a delegation from the area.

The locals said the drainage system was constructed in the area two years ago. “However, the road, which was dug up for laying pipes, has not been repaired yet. Despite numerous appeals to the concerned department for repairing the road, no action has been taken so far. We appeal to the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to direct the concerned department to take prompt action in this regard,” they added.
