Srinagar, Jan 11: An absconder evading arrest for the past four years has been arrested.
A statement of the Crime Branch Jammu issued here said that a special team of the Economic Offences Wing, Crime Branch Jammu apprehended absconder, Kulranjan Sharma of H No 401-A, Rani Talab Digiana from the outskirts of Jammu.
The statement said that he was elusive for 4 years after a case FIR No 39/2020 under Sections 420, 465, 468, 471, and 120-B of the Ranbir Penal Code at Police Crime Branch Jammu was registered against him and two other co-accused, Kulbir Singh of Bhau R S Pura Jammu and Narotam Singh of Marjali Kangril Jammu for their involvement in hatching a criminal conspiracy and cheating complainant of an amount of Rs 23.5 lakh by getting bank loan sanctioned in his favour for sale of JCB.
It said that the accused absconder was a habitual offender involved in three case FIRs and three complaints including Case FIR No 33/2019 of Police Station Crime Branch Jammu and Case FIR No 32/2017 of Police Station Janipur.
The statement said that besides this, three complaints are also under probe against him.
It said that while the other two accused were already brought to book by Crime Branch Jammu after presenting a chargesheet against them in the court of law following the investigation conducted by Crime Branch Jammu.
The statement said that the absconder Kulranjan Sharma was constantly changing his locations to evade arrest.
