New Delhi, Feb 26: Union Minister S Jaishankar Monday said that India’s operations on Uri and Balakot were a fitting response to the growing acts of terrorism on the West front.

Speaking at the Jawaharlal Nehru University’s Pandit Hriday Nath Kunzru Memorial Lecture 2024 on ‘Bharat and the World,’ Jaishankar said India’s strikes in Balakot and Uri conveyed a message to the world.

“The West front terrorism got a befitting reply,” he said.

Speaking of India’s expanding worldwide influence, Jaishankar said the global order had undergone a noticeable, albeit uneven, rebalancing in terms of politics and economy. The G20 has taken over the G7 and many new groupings and mechanisms have come into being,” he said.

Jaishankar said that over the past 10 years, India had risen six spots on the list of the world’s top economies.
