Tangmarg, Mar 27: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) organised an outreach programme, “Nidhi Aapka Nikat,” in Tangmarg on Tuesday, facilitating direct interaction between EPFO officials and employers/employees.

The event aimed to strengthen the relationship between the organization and its stakeholders by providing a platform for grievance redressal, information exchange, and awareness.

The awareness programme, conducted under the guidance of Vinay Kumar, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-II/OIC, was led by Enforcement Officer Latif Ahmad Zargar, Abdul Rashid Mir SSA, Ahmar Rashid Shah SSA, and Mehraj ur Rehman SSA. It witnessed active participation from employees and employers of various establishments.

During the session, participants received a comprehensive presentation on the applicability of the EPF and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, provisions of the Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995 and Linked Insurance Scheme 1976, e-nominations, and KYC. The importance of Aadhaar and PAN number registration for PF members was emphasised, enabling seamless access to online services, balance checking, e-nomination, and corrections through mobile phones.

The participants were informed about the benefits of insurance under the Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI), wherein an assured benefit of Rs. 2.5 lacs, up to a maximum of Rs. 7 lacs, will be given to the nominee of the deceased upon their death in service, provided the deceased has rendered more than one year of continuous service as an EPFO member.

A special pension and death claim help desk was set up during the event, providing members with online services such as filing online claims and addressing grievances/issues promptly. During the interactive session, various queries and doubts raised by the participants were answered by the visiting officers of EPFO, and their grievances were settled on the spot.

The participants expressed their gratitude to the EPFO authorities for conducting such awareness programs and hoped that similar initiatives would continue in the future to benefit more employees with the social security schemes provided by EPFO India.
