J&K polls: Election office suspends 23 govt employees for MCC violations

Srinagar, Sep 22: Government on Sunday said that in a decisive step to uphold the integrity of the electoral process in Uri Assembly Constituency, Tehsildar Boniyar has disengaged  Lumberdar of Pehlipora, Ubaid Ahmed Khan from his duties with immediate effect for  the violation of  Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

A government spokesman said that this action follows the confirmed reports that Ubaid Ahmed Khan was actively participating in election campaigns for a political party, as a clear violation of the MCC.

   

Pertinently, Model Code of Conduct is enforced to ensure free and fair elections, and any breach of these guidelines is dealt seriously.

The administration remains committed to maintaining transparency and neutrality during the electoral process, spokesman said.
