Sopore family stages protest in Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov 30: A family from Sopore area in north Kashmir on Tuesday staged protest at Press Enclave here, demanding the whereabouts of its missing family member.

Joined by some relatives and neighbors, the family also appealed to the administration to take necessary measures for tracing out the missing person.

“Ghulam Nabi Naiko, who is a trader at fruit mandi had left for Shopian for business purposes on September 22 this year. Since then he is missing,” they said.

The family said that Naiko talked to them on phone at 5:45 on the fateful day and said, “he is nearby and will reach home soon.”

“As he did not return, we started calling him on his mobile number. Despite repeated attempts, we found his mobile switched off,” they said.

They added that the family made every possible effort to trace him or to locate his whereabouts but failed. “Naikoo has also two kids who are asking for their father. We appeal to the administration to help us in tracing our beloved,” they said.
