Sopore, June 5: The residents of Sopore Saturday demanded macadamisation of several vital roads that are in a dilapidated condition.
The locals from NowporaKalan area of Sopore held a peaceful protest against the R&B department demanding macadamisation of Nowpora to Hadipora road, fruit mandi to Nowpora road and other link roads of the area which connect Nowpora to Sopore and Rafiabad areas.
They said that these roads were macadamised around five years ago and since then no attention had been paid towards these roads despite these being of vital importance.
They appealed authorities to look into the matter at the earliest so that the residents could heave a sigh of relief.
Officials of the R&B department Sopore said that these roads were not in this year’s plan for macadamisation. They said these roads would be macadamised under the next year’s plan.
