Pulwama, June 6: Nine persons were injured in a grenade blast at Tral bus stand in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday afternoon.
According to sources, the blast created panic in the town. “At least nine persons got injured in the incident. The injured were rushed to sub district hospital Tral for treatment by locals,” witnesses said.
While talking to Greater Kashmir, a heath official said that they first received seven injured persons and later two more in the hospital. “Of the nine injured, eight had minor injuries and they were sent home after treatment. However one of them had abdominal injury and he was referred to Srinagar hospital,” he said.
The injured have been identified as: Farooq Ahmad Reshi (55) of Tral Payeen, Five year old Mohmmad Amad ud Din Of Satoora, Haseena Akhtar of Dar Ganiegund, Jalaluddin Bhat (41) of Khrew Pampore, Ilyas Ahmad Bhat (28) of Reshpora Tral, Khalifa (35) of Chankitar, Bashir Ahmad Hajam (45) of Tral Payeen, Suhail Nayak of Tral, and Showkat Ahmad Naik of Tral. However Farooq Ahmad has been shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment.
An Alto car (JK02 BX-7993) was also damaged in the incident.
While talking to Greater Kashmir, SP Awantipora, Muhammad Yousuf said that it was a grenade blast and many civilians were injured in it.
The incident created panic in the town as people were seen running to safer places.
