Srinagar, June 1: Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather Tuesday visited Kulgam and inaugurated ‘Training of Trainers’ programme for healthcare workers aimed at containment of Covid-19.
A spokesperson of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir said that the director inaugurated the training programme in the district and visited District Hospital Kulgam where he took stock of the Covid management, emergency ER rooms and the oxygen plant.
The spokesman said DrMushtaq interacted with the healthcare staff and patients.
During the visit, the director instructed Chief Medical Officers to constitute teams of specialist doctors at block level who would train from each village including ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and ANMs (AAAs).
He also instructed that from each village, Lambardars, panch members, two teachers, two religious leaders and volunteers should be trained for basic Covid management.
“A team of 15 people should be made who should be trained in basic Covid management. They should reach out to the people in generating awareness regarding Covid, vaccination and help people in basic Covid management,” the director said.
He said that the teams would be taught basic Covid management and domiciliary oxygen management in terms of how to use oxygen concentrators, oximetres and thermometers since various patients were in home isolation.
