Rajouri, May 31: After five weeks, the number of daily Covid cases in Rajouri district plunged below 50 on Monday while two persons died at Government Medical College Rajouri.
Officials said that 40 people were found having the viral load of coronavirus during testing across the district on Monday, the lowest figure of daily cases since last five weeks.
The previous lowest figure recorded in the district was 51 on April 28.
Officials said that most of the cases reported on Monday were from Darhal block which tops the list of daily cases for the past nine days.
Among these new cases, 16 are from Darhal, six from Kalakote, five from Kandi, two from Nowshera, seven from Manjakote and four from Sunderbani.
Meanwhile, two persons lost their battle with Covid at Government Medical College Rajouri.
One of them was a 90-year-old woman from Thanamandi, Rajouri and another 36-year-old man from Salani Mankote area of Mendhar, Poonch.
