Srinagar, June 2: Police has brought family of the man who snatched the rifle of a cop and locked himself inside a room at a SOG camp in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, to persuade him to surrender, an official said.
News agency GNS reported the man, Muhammad Amin, was being questioned by security forces inside the camp when he snatched rifle of a cop, Amjad Ahmad and fired at him leaving him injured.
Later, Amin locked himself inside a room and even fired a few rounds from there, an official said.
The official said efforts are underway to persuade him to surrender adding his mother and other family members have been brought to convince him.
Sources said that the person’s brother was a militant who was killed in a gunfight in 2019.
