Rajouri admin initiates steps to resettle displaced families

District administration Rajouri here has constituted a team of officers to rehabilitate the families displaced after Saturday’s anti-encroachment drive and has also initiated action against illegal sale of land and illegal construction and a police FIR has also been registered against the accused.

As per administration spokesman, with an aim to provide immediate relief to the displaced families and to ensure their proper rehabilitation, district administration has provided alternate accommodation to seven displaced families and an immediate assistance of Rs 25,000.

   

“Besides,  teams of FCS&CA Department and Revenue department also provided ration and other essential commodities to the displaced families presently putting up in ITI wing in Rajouri,” he added. 

Besides administration have also adopted educational expenses and livelihood of 29 children of displaced families studying in different classes for one year, he added.  

Meanwhile, with an aim to take first hand review of the relief and rehabilitation process for displaced families,  Deputy Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary along with ACR Abdul Qayoom Mir, Tehsildar Salam Din, AD FCS&CA Javed Iqbal and other senior officers held a detailed meeting with displaced families at ITI wing.

Administration also approved the assistance for reconstruction of houses and other compensation as per norms and guidelines in place for displaced persons, the spokesman informed. 

Meanwhile, a team of senior administrative officers has also been constituted to ensure proper and earliest resettlement of displaced families. 

Team comprised of Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Development and District Social Welfare Officer has been deputed for resettlement of the 7 displaced families the plan for which was approved. 

Only the families below poverty line and those displaced due to located in road alignment are being provided housing and land for resettlement as per norms.

Similarly administration has also started disciplinary action against accused people who sold the state land as well as against officials and officers of government departments who have been found involved in illegal allotment of land.  

“Details were  shared by the families about the persons who sold the land over a period of many years and accordingly administrations has lodged a case FIR No. 16/2018 u/s 420/467/468/471/447-A RPC Police Station Rajouri against the private persons and officials involved in the instant matter. ” administration said.  

A team of officers is already looking into the role of some officials into illegal constructions and wrongful vesting of ownership rights in few cases. 

A joint team of Police along with Revenue officials will conduct a detailed investigation, administration added.

On the other hand, SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas along with Assistant  Commissioner Revenue Abdul Qayoom Mir and  DySP HQrs Jaswant Singh visited a spot where some locals attempted to create hurdles in fencing of 12 Kanal prime custodian land opposite to district hospital and completed the process.

Further, removal of encroachment from main markets and vital roads is also likely to commence and administration has appealed the people to remove their structures from alignment of roads and town markets at their own in the meantime.

Pertinent here to mention that in day long anti encroachment drive launched yesterday by administration along riverside in Bela Colony Rajouri, dozens of illegally constructed structures were removed and 274 kanals of state land under illegal encroachment has been retrieved.
