Seven rounds of funeral held for slain Jaish militant in Pulwama

Seven rounds of funeral prayers were held for slain Jaish-e-Muhammad militant Manzoor Ahmad Baba in Drubgam village of Pulwama in south Kashmir on Monday.

An eye witness said that the prayers were offered seven times to accommodate the massive rush of people who had marched to the village from adjacent areas.

He said that pro-freedom and pro-Islam slogans were raised as the body of Baba was marched towards the graveyard.

Earlier, massive clashes erupted after people started marching towards the village to take part in the last rites of the slain militant.

A youth, identified as Manzoor Ahmad of Tahab Pulwama was injured after being hit by a bullet. He was shifted to District Hospital Pulwama where from he was rushed to a hospital in Srinagar.

Baba was killed along with two associates after the trio launched a pre-dawn attack on CRPF training centre in Lethpora Pulwama. Five troopers were killed and three injured in the attack.
