Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) Dr Shah Faesal Tuesday stressed the need for expediting the selection process for various vacancies.
In a statement here today, Faesal said the delay in theselection process for various vacancies was hitting the interests of thecandidates.
He called upon the recruiting agencies to “dispose of casespertaining to selections and recruitments in a time-bound manner so that thecareer of youth is not jeopardized”.
He said in cases where the selections/recruitments have beenchallenged in the court of law, “the recruitment agencies should ensure fastfiling of replies so that such cases can be heard and disposed of withoutdelay.”
Maintaining that there is “record unemployment” in J&K,he said, whatever job opportunities come out they are marred by unnecessaryprocedural delays.
“With litigations on the one side and the model code ofconduct on the other, there is little that candidates can do about a systemthat is anti- youth. All hurdles are being created to delay decisions onmatters related to career of educated youth and it is extremely unfortunate,”Faesal said.
Interacting with a group of aggrieved aspirants who havequalified the Mains 2016 exam, Faesal said, “Three year’s delay in theselection process is putting students to unimaginable stress.”
“It is surprising that JKPSC has not been able to streamlinethe selection process despite a very competent and honest leadership. It istime that JKPSC issues a white paper as to why such things are happeningrepeatedly so that people can support the efforts of institutional strengtheningif needed,” the statement said.
He requested the Home Department to release the select listof Sub Inspectors and also asked the SSRB to conclude the teacher appointmentswithout further delay.
