Barabanki (Lucknow), Jan 5: The Barabanki district in Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a transformative surge under the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY).
With an impending investment of Rs 20,000 crore in various sectors, Barabanki aims to elevate its socio-economic landscape, allocating 50 percent specifically to agricultural advancement.
The district magistrate Barabanki Satindra Kumar, accompanied by Chief Development Officer (CDO) Ekta Singh, briefed the visiting journalist team from Jammu and Kashmir.
Kumar revealed that 4.69 lakh people in Barabanki benefit from the Kisan Samman Nidhi, while 16.8 lakh are recipients of schemes like Ayushman Card.
The district magistrate also highlighted the inclusive nature of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, bringing those previously deprived of central government schemes into the mainstream.
The district officials lauded the proactive participation of the masses in exploring and embracing diverse schemes that align with their interests.
During the Yatra, journalists inspected an MNREGA-constructed park in one of the Gram Panchayat of Siddhaur block, showcasing grassroot development. The park has been constructed at the project cost of Rs 40 lakhs under MGNREGA. Around 34 such parks have been already established which further enhances public convenience.
Ekta Singh, the CDO, who accompanied the visiting journalists to Muhammadpur village to have an insight of VBSY awareness program, emphasized the inclusive nature of VBSY, bringing those previously excluded from Central Government schemes into the mainstream.
Ekta Singh highlighted the proactive involvement of the masses in exploring and participating in schemes aligned with their interests. The team also interacted with a Self Help Group overseeing the Anna Prashan Prerna Mahila Small Scale Industries, emphasizing economic empowerment.
The official detailed the success of the industry, costing Rs 90 lakh, where all members achieved self-reliance and experienced a notable increase in income.
“The comprehensive approach of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Barabanki resonates with citizens actively participating in schemes tailored to their needs,” an official said.
Mohammadpur Chandi Singh Gram Panchayat in Siddhaur Development Block recorded massive participation, showcasing the effective implementation of flagship schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Ujwala Yojana. Different departments had established stalls on the venue as part of the VBSY to cater to the beneficiaries who are leftout in different schemes.
The visiting journalists engaged with beneficiaries who shared stories of improved living conditions under these initiatives.
The Agricultural Department’s drone demonstration, highlighting the use of nano urea for crop spraying, underscored Barabanki’s commitment to adopting technology for agricultural advancement.
Farmers have received comprehensive education on balanced fertilizer application, natural farming practices, and nano urea utilization through drones.

In the realm of health services, the Ayushman Bharat Scheme provided 16.18 lakh cards to beneficiaries in Barabanki, offering crucial health benefits. Personal stories, such as Kanchan Devi’s testimony about the life-saving impact of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, showcased the tangible benefits reaching citizens. The district’s proactive approach extends beyond conventional governance. Gram Panchayats have transformed into comprehensive centres, addressing citizens’ needs conveniently.
On the occasion, the beneficiaries were made aware about the ‘Medplus’ mobile application which facilitates easy scheduling of doctor appointments and diagnostic services, bringing healthcare closer to residents.
