1 killed in Ramban accident

Ramban, Mar, 24: A driver of a Tipper (Dumper) died on the spot while his helper sustained critical injuries after the vehicle in which they were travelling plunged into a gorge near Kulchoch on the Sangaldan-Barala link road in the early hours of Sunday.

Police sources said a Dumper bearing registration Number JK21G -8088 moving from Sangaldan towards Barala rolled down into 150 feet deep gorge at Kulchoch, Barala Sangaldan. The driver of the vehicle died on the spot while the conductor of the vehicle sustaining critical injuries.

They said on getting information Police with the help of locals shifted both dead and injured to PHC Sangaldan. Police identified the deceased driver as Surinder Singh son of Bir Singh resident of Haroog Dharamkund. The injured conductor was identified as Ram Prasad son of Munshi Ram resident of Manjal Bandhan Sangaldan.

Police have registered a case FIR, number 28 of 2024 under section 279/337/304- A, of Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Police Station Gool for further investigations.
