Hazratbal resident killed in freak accident on Srinagar-Jammu highway

Banihal, June 25: A 34-year-old man hailing from Hazratbal area of Srinagar slipped to death on the Srinagar-Jammu highway at Monkey Morh in Ramban district after he went down his vehicle to relieve himself.

Sources told Greater Kashmir that Bilal Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Nabi Dar a resident of Dhobi Ghat locality in Hazratbal was travelling in a cab bearing registration no. JK-01T/ 5547.

   

They said that Dar came out of the vehicle to relieve himself, but slipped and fell into a gorge.

Soon after the incident, Ramban Police, Quick Response Team (QRT) and local Traffic Police reached the spot and started a rescue operation, however Dar was retrieved dead from the gorge, officials said.

Dar’s identification could be verified from the identity card he carried with him.
