Ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, the Jammu and Kashmir police Tuesday took out a road march in Bhaderwah town and its peripheral areas.
Sub-divisional police officer, Iftkhar Ahmed, said, “A seven kilometer-long march was taken out on Tuesday, wherein sleuths of JKP, JKAP, CRPF and ITPB participated.”
He added, “The march was aimed to create awareness about free and fair elections, besides area familiarization, area domination and to create synergy, coordination and cooperation amongst security forces prior to the parliamentary elections.”
The march started from police headquarters, Kotli, Bhaderwah on Tuesday morning and passed through several localities, including Chobia link road, Seri Bazaar, Takiya Chowk, Sadar Bazaar, Jamia Masjid, Passri Bus Stand, Green Colony, Chenote, Chakka, Dandi, Gawari, Gatha and Udrana. It was led by assistant superintendent of police, Bhaderwah, Raj Singh Gouria, sub-divisional police officer, Iftkhar Ahmed, and station house officer, Muneer Khan.
Assistant commandants Sahil Gupta and Joseph Hiramai of 33rd battalion CRPF also participated in the rally.
