Doda, Feb 5: In a move to boost road safety in winter, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) carried out a special campaign in Seri Bazar Bhaderwah.
Led by ARTO, Rajesh Gupta, and guided by Deputy Commissioner, Harvinder Singh the endeavor aligns with the ongoing National Road Safety Month and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, focusing on safe driving practices amidst snow. The initiative sought to educate drivers on navigating challenges posed by snow-covered roads. ARTO Doda stressed caution and readiness, stating, “Given the winter conditions, it’s vital for drivers to adjust their habits for everyone’s safety.” The drive witnessed workshops and awareness campaigns, enlightening drivers about snow-driving challenges like reduced visibility and slippery surfaces. Practical tips on safe driving in snow are provided, emphasising maintaining distance, using winter tires, and reducing speed.
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, expressed optimism about the initiative’s impact, noting, “Promoting safe snow driving aims to minimise accidents and ensure a secure winter driving experience.”
