Hundreds participate in Nimaz-e-Jinaza of Grand Mufti’s mother at Khanqah-e-Moula

Srinagar, Feb 2: Hundreds of people from different walks of life participated in the Nimaz-e-Jinaza of the mother of Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Nasir-ul-Islam in the premises of Khanqah-e-Moula in Downtown.

The Nimaz-e-Jinaza was led by the Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam. The deceased was the wife of the late Grand Mufti of J&K, Mufti Bashir-u-din. She was later laid to rest at Makbar-e-Sheikh-ul-Islam at Maharaj Gunj.

   

Nasir-ul-Islam said that his mother was suffering from multiple ailments and had been unwell for quite some time. “She passed away at Batra Hospital in Jammu on Thursday, where she was admitted for the past few days. We later brought her body to Srinagar and reached here around noon today,” Nasir-ul-Islam told Greater Kashmir.

Elaborating, he said, “the administration helped us in hassle-free movement of our vehicles. Politicians, religious heads and people from other walks of life reached out to us and expressed their condolences and participated in the Jinazah. We thank the administration and other people for standing with our family in this hour of grief.”

He said that the Fateh Khwani of the deceased will be offered on Monday at 11 pm at Makhbar-e-Sheikh-ul-Islam at Maharaj Gunj.

Meanwhile, people from different walks of life condoled the demise. The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of the Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah have extended condolences to Nasir-ul-Islam on the loss of his mother.

The duo prayed for peace to the departed soul and fortitude to the bereaved household to bear the inconsolable loss. Meanwhile, Dr Farooq Abdullah, who is in New Delhi, condoled with the bereaved household over a telephone call. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and fortitude to the bereaved.

Former Chief Minister of J&K and president of PDP Mehbooba Mufti also condoled the demise. “My deepest condolences to Mufti Nasir ul Islam sahab & his family on the passing away of his mother. May Allah Ta’aala grant her the highest place in jannat,” Mehbooba wrote on X.

Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, expressed grief over the passing away of the mother of Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam.

She passed away at a hospital in Jammu last evening. In his condolence message, Bukhari said, “I extend my heartfelt condolences to Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam over the passing of his beloved mother. May Allah rest her soul in Janat ul Firdous.”

“In this hour of grief, I stand in solidarity with Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam Sahib and the other members of the bereaved family. May Almighty Allah grant them patience to bear the pain of this irreparable loss,” he added.

J&K People’s Conference President Sajad Lone today expressed his profound condolences to Grand Mufti over the demise of his mother.

In his message, Lone said, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the passing away of the mother of Grand Mufti Sahib. In this hour of grief, me and my party colleagues express our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.”

“We share the pain and sorrow of the family and pray for the departed soul to rest in peace in Jannat-ul-Firdous. May Allah give patience to the family to bear this irreparable loss,” he added.

Meanwhile senior NC leaders including General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Addl General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani Sogami, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Senior leaders Abdul Rahim Rather, Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Shafi Uri, Sharief Ud din Shariq, Sakina Itoo, Mian Altaf Ahmad, Mubarak Gul, Shameema Firdous, Party MPs Muhammad Akbar Lone, Hasnain Masoodi, Political Advisor to President Mushtaq Guroo, Political Advisor to VP Mudassar Shahmiri, State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, YNC Provincial President Kashmir Salman Ali Sagar, YNC, Women’s wing, Media & Communications wing functionaries have also extended condolences to the bereaved Mufti household. They prayed for peace to the departed soul in the highest echelons of Jannat. Later in the day, Party’s Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq participated in the Namaz e Janaza of the deceased. Central secretary Irfan Shah and Publicity secretary Mir GM Saqi were also present on the occasion.

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) General Secretary Irfan Naqib on Friday expressed profound grief at the demise.

In a condolence message, JKPCC General Secretary Irfan Naqib expressed heartfelt condolences and solidarity with Mufti Nasir Ul Islam and other members of the bereaved family. He termed the deceased a noble soul and prayed for her eternal peace.

In a condolence message Chairman Jammu Kashmir Civil Society Forum and former president EJAC Ab Qayoom Wani expressed sorrow on the demise. “The deceased was a pious woman who has contributed a lot to the society by supporting her husband late former Grand Mufti Bashir-u-din in difficult situations and also has a great condition in shaping his son Mufti Nasir ul Islam,” he said.
