Contraband worth Rs 2.21 crore recovered: Police

Baramulla, May 31: Contraband worth Rs 2.21 crore was seized during May, Police said Monday.

Among the seized contraband include 400 gm heroin, 2 kg and 760 grams charas, 3.5 kg poppy straw and 126 bottles of codeine.

   

“The cost of the seized heroin in the international market is Rs 2 crore while charas, poppy straw and codeine bottles are worth Rs 10.60 lakh, Rs 10.50 lakh and Rs 25000,” a Police spokesman said.

In connection with the seized contraband, Police arrested 28 persons under 12 FIRs registered at different police stations across Baramulla.
