Ganderbal, May 31: A huge consignment of ammunition was recovered during a search operation in a forest area of Ganderbal district on Monday.
Official sources said that on a reliable information about the presence of some suspicious objects in a forest, Police along with joint teams of SOG Ganderbal, 24 RR and 115 Bn CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the forest area of Shajinar Gutlibagh.
During searches in the thick woods, huge consignment of ammunition was found lodged in a cavity beneath a rock.
“Eleven AK magazines, AK live ammunition of 597 rounds, pistol magazines, one pistol ammunition of six rounds, 12 UBGL rounds were recovered from the spot,” Police said.
A case under FIR No 91 of 2021 under sections 7/25 / IA Act has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal.
