J&K government grants leave to in-service candidates for CCE Mains Exam-2023

Srinagar, March 24: In a major relief, the J&K Government has come to the rescue of the in-service employees aspiring for Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) Mains of JKAS-2023.

In an official communication issued by the General Administrative Department (GAD), all the Deputy Commissioners (DCs), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Heads of the Departments (HoDs) have been asked to allow all the in-service candidates for appearing in the J&K CCE Mains Examination-2023.

“Representations have been received from various in-service candidates who are not being granted leave to appear in the Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination, 2023, which is scheduled to take place with effect from March 26 to April 3 of 2024, in view of their engagement in various assignments including election related duties,” the official communication reads.

The move comes days after Greater Kashmir reported about the issue and highlighted the dilemma of the in-service employees as the J&K administration has cancelled the leaves of all the employees ahead of the Lok Sabha Polls.

The J&K Public Service Commission (PSC) has scheduled the Mains of JKAS-2023 on March 26, 27, 28, 29 and April 2 and 3, 2024.

“The matter has been examined and it has been desired to advise all the Deputy Commissioners, SSPs and HoDs to allow the in-service candidates wishing to appear in the above said examination, subject to sanction of leave,” the communication reads.

The Deputy Secretary GAD, Akshay Rajan, in the official communication addressed to all DCs, SSPs and HoDs has requested  to “kindly permit” the in-service candidates, working under their administrative control, to appear in the Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination-2023 scheduled from March 26 to April 3 of 2024.

A copy of the communication has been sent to all the Administrative Secretaries and Chief Electoral Officer as well.
