Jammu, June 4: J&K High Court has sanctioned financial aid of Rs 4 lakh each to the widows of two young advocates who died of Covid-19 during the second wave.
As per two separate orders issued by the Registrar administration, J&K High Court at Srinagar Mohammad Yasin Beigh, “the wives of late advocates Mohammad Shakir and Mohammad Issaq will be provided aid out of the balance amount from the relief fund provided last year by the Lieutenant Governor’s Office of UT of J&K”.
Through a separate order, sanction has also been accorded to the grant of financial assistance in favour of legal heirs/wives of three deceased senior advocates of Jammu and Budgam. They would be provided relief out of the Advocates’ Welfare Fund maintained by the concerned authorities.
The deceased senior advocates included Ravinder Kumar Raina, Noor Mohammad Dar and G A Niyazi.
“Sanction is hereby accorded to the grant of Rs 4.00 lakhs each as financial assistance in favour of Shameem Akhtar, widow of late Mohammad Shakir, advocate, who was bearing Enrolment Number No. P/57/2009 dated 06-01-2009 and Tasina Bi, widow of late Mohammad Issaq, advocate, who was bearing Enrolment Number No.JK-517/2004 dated 22.03.2004 and lost their lives because of Covid-19 complications during second wave of the pandemic,” read the orders.
“The aid is being provided out of the balance amount of Rs.8,02,500 from the relief fund provided last year by the Lieutenant Governor’s Office of UT of J&K as financial assistance to young and not so financially well-off advocates of UT of J&K for meeting their financial hardships on account of Covid-19 pandemic,” the order read.
As per the order, the Director Finance, High Court of J&K, main wing, Srinagar has been directed to release the sanctioned amount to the beneficiaries.
Through a separate order issued by the Registrar Administration, advocate Ambika Raina widow of late advocate Ravinder Kumar Raina (Enrolment No JK-178/1987 dated 15.07.1987) will be provided the financial assistance of Rs 2.50 lakhs out of the Advocates’ Welfare Fund maintained by the concerned authority i.e., Registrar Judicial, High court of J&K, Jammu.
Khurshi, widow of late advocate Noor Mohammad Dar (Enrolment No JK-75/1987 dated 19.02.1987) and Maryam Bano, widow of late advocate G A Niyazi (Enrolment No JK-802/1986 dated 17.11.1986 will be provided a financial aid of Rs 3.00 lakhs and Rs 2.50 lakhs respectively out of the Advocates’ Welfare Fund maintained by the concerned authority i.e., Principal District & Sessions Judge, Budgam.
As per the order, Principal District & Sessions Judge Jammu/Budgam will disburse the said amount to the concerned after proper identification and against receipt out of the Advocate’s Welfare Fund Account maintained by their offices.
