J&K witnesses decline in new COVID cases

Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a decline in Covid infection cases as 2237 positive cases and 45 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.

As per the details shared by the health department, of 45  deaths, 29 patients succumbed in various hospitals of Jammu while 16 Covid positive patients died in  Kashmir division, with it the total fatalities reported in the UT since the outbreak of pandemic has reached 3609.

Highest number of deaths were again reported in Government Medical College Jammu.

Out of 45 deaths reported today, 14 died in GMC Jammu, 01 in GMC Doda, 04 in GMC Rajouri, 04 in MH Jammu, 01 in CD Hosp Jammu, 03 in DH Kishtwar, 01 in DH Ramban, 01 in Home/ Brought Dead, 03 in SMHS Sgr, 04 in DH Pulwama, 01 in DH Ganderbal, 04 in JLNM Srinagar, 03 in GMC Baramulla and 01 in CHC Kupwara.

On Monday, J&K reported further decline in Covid infection cases, 2237 positive cases were reported – 854 from Jammu division and 1383 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall toll to 272858.

Srinagar too witnessed a decline in infection cases, the summer capital recorded 309 cases. Srinagar has reported 62468 positive cases (including 309 cases reported today) with 5683 active positive, 56048 recovered, 737 deaths.

Baramulla reported 103 cases on Monday, Budgam 221, Pulwama 77, Kupwara 204, Anantnag 106, Bandipora 77, Ganderbal 91, Kulgam 169, Shopian 26, Jammu 441, Udhampur 55, Rajouri 66, Doda 43, Kathua 49, Samba 31, Kishtwar 47, Poonch 27, Ramban 47 and Reasi 48.

The number of active positive cases in JK is 45630. Out of total active cases, 26892 are in Kashmir division and 18738 in Jammu division.

With 3999 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 223619 .

The number of patients admitted in hospitals is 3005. The current bed capacity for COVID patients in J&K is 5484, of which 2451 patients are on oxygen support and 130 on ventilator support.

According to the official details, among the total 251560  positive cases in J&K, 21298 have been reported as travelers while 251560 as others.
