In view of coronavirus scare, Kashmir University (KU) has postponed all Post-Graduation (PG) examinations and internals at its main campus as well as satellite campuses till March 31.
A circular in this regardissued by Deputy Registrar, Academics, KU on Saturday reads: “All heads,directors and coordinators of the main campus and satellite campuses are herebyinformed that all the PG-examination including internals have been deferredtill March 31.
“In the interest of thestudents, the concerned teachers are advised to upload the study material oftheir respective subjects on the University website.”
Also, the varsityadministration has ordered closure of all hostels (Boys and Girls) at maincampus and Zakura from Monday (March 16) till further orders.
As per a notice issued byProvost KU, in view of coronavirus scare and the advisory issued by thegovernment to avoid congregation, “all boys and girls hostels shall remainclosed from Monday till further orders.”
SPORTS ACTIVITIESPOSTPONED
In a separate notice, thevarsity administration has also postponed all sports activities till furtherorders. “In view of the prevailing circumstances due to spread of COVID-19 andthe advisory issued by the authorities, as a precautionary measure all sportsactivities are hereby postponed till further orders,” reads the notice issuedby Coordinator Directorate of Physical Education and Sports.
Also, the Directorate hasordered closure of the health club of the directorate till further orders. “Asa precautionary measure, the health club of the directorate shall remain closedtill further orders,” reads the notice.
Earlier, the Dean CollegesDevelopment Council (DCDC) of Kashmir University (KU) issued an advisory to allgovernment and private colleges instructing them to take preventive measures tocombat the threat of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
In the advisory, thecolleges have been instructed to postpone all seminars, conferences, workshopsand events involving large gatherings, scheduled this month.
