Prime Minister NarendraModi will address a public rally on the outskirts of Jammu city on March 28 to seek support for the BharatiyaJanata Party in the upcoming LokSabha elections, a leader of the party said on Monday. BJP’s national vice-president and its in-charge of J&K affairs AvinashRai Khanna told reporters here that the PM will address a public rally at Doomipanchayat in Bhalwal tehsil on March 28.
He will seek votes for sitting BJP MPs Jugal Kishore Sharmaand Jitendra Singh, who are contesting from the Jammu-Poonch andUdhampur-Doda-Kathua parliamentary constituencies respectively, Khanna said.
These constituencies are going to the polls in the first andsecond phases respectively.
Khanna reviewed the arrangements for the rally during ameeting of BJP leaders here and also visited the venue.
“The grand start of the BJP’s campaign in the region willtake place from ‘vijaysankalp’ rally,” Khanna said.
Meanwhile, an advance security liaison (ASL)team—responsible for protection of the Prime Minister—reached Jammu and heldmarathon meetings with the civil and police administrations.
“The ASL team also visited the rally venue and startedsanitising it in coordination with the local police,” an official source said.
