BRIBERY CASE | Northern Rly engineer in Jammu sentenced to 5 yrs RI

Jammu, Dec 13: The Special Judge, CBI cases, Jammu has sentenced a former Executive Engineer (Construction and doubling), Northern Railway, Jammu B B Mittal to undergo five years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) with fine of Rs 10,000.

A spokesperson of premier investigative agency, in an official statement, said that CBI had registered an instant case against B B Mittal, who was the then Executive Engineer (Construction and doubling),

   

Northern Railway, Jammu on the allegations of demanding bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant for releasing the security amount of Rs 7.5 lakhs approximately.

CBI laid a trap on July 15, 2009 and caught the accused red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant. After investigation, a charge sheet was filed on March 11, 2010. The trial court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
