NC legislator terms local slain militants as martyrs

National Conference MLA  Shamima Firdous on Tuesday said that 117 local militants were martyred  by forces as they were not trained fighters.

Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, Shamima said the “local militants were martyred because they are young and untrained boys. They don’t know how handle gun. They are not Pakistan trained,” she said, adding that “forces show no mercy towards them. “Kashmiris will continue to pick up guns and sacrifice their lives until the issue is resolved,” she said.  

   

The killing of youth during clashes in Khudwani area of south Kashmir also echoed in the Legislative Assembly. “One person has been martyred in my constituency. The forces are spraying bullets on people in the area,” NC’s Abdul Majid Larmi said.

He asked  the government to come up with statement on killing in the House.

To this, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Abdur Rehman Veeri said he is collecting about the incident. Later, the speaker adjourned proceedings of the day.
