Swachhata App launched in Samba

Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today launched Swachhata App, an application formulated by the directorate of Urban Local Bodies Jammu for immediate grievance redressal of issues of sanitation.

The app shall cater to the 15 municipal committees and councils of Jammu division including Kathua, Katra, Udhampur, Reasi, Doda, Samba, Poonch, Lakhanpur, Hiranagar, Bhaderwah, Akhnoor, Arnia, Chenani, Nowshera and Jourian, an official handout said.

Deputy Commissioner Samba Sheetal Nanda and other officers of the district administration and Urban Local Bodies Jammu were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Singh said the government is committed to ensure that the Swachhata campaign launched by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi would be a success in the state. 

He said by ensuring clean and hygienic surroundings “we would also be contributing our bit in keeping the environment clean and healthy, which in turn would ensure that the spread of certain communicable disease and related ailments is also checked.”

The Deputy Chief Minister said the instructions have already been passed down the line to the concerned departments to ensure neat and clean surroundings are maintained throughout the state.

He said, “We have also directed for ensuring solid waste management is also done in such a manner that people do not face any inconvenience.”
