A 10-year-old boy who had gone for tuition to Chowgam village of Devsar in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district returned home dead.
He was identified as a student of 4th standard, Sahil Ahmad Mir, son of Muhammad Amin Mir of Kharagund, Devsar.
An official said that he died of electric shock at the coaching center in Chowgam.
“Sahil came in contact with a High-Tension (HT) live wire. He was immediately rushed to Emergency Hospital Qazigund but succumbed on way to the hospital.
The incident left everyone around shell shocked. The teachers and students carried his body home and participated in his last rites amid sobs and tears.
“Who could have imagined that this boy who left for tuitions in the morning will return home dead,” said the villagers.
They said that the tragedy that had befallen the family had left them devastated.
