2-day induction programme concludes at IUST

Srinagar, Nov 29: The two-day induction-cum-orientation programme for nursing students concluded today at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST). The programme organized by Syed Mantaqui Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology, was aimed to acquaint students with nursing education at IUST and foster a comprehensive understanding of the profession.

The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting and the administration of the nursing oath to the trainee nurses.

   

Prof Ayaz Hassan Moon, Dean Academic Affairs, IUST said that nursing is caring and despite advances in technology human nurses are irreplaceable. He said that nursing involves emotions and stressed leveraging technology for efficient outcomes.

Prof Naseer Iqbal Registrar IUST in his address commended the role of nurses emphasising their significant contributions to preventive, curative, and restorative healthcare.

The programme was coordinated by Asmat Parveen (Principal, Nursing College) who briefed the participants about the programme details while stressing the nursing profession’s critical role towards society and IUST’s commitment in fostering excellence in nursing education.
