Baramulla, May 24: Cracking a whip on illegal mining of minerals at Goigam, Aboora, Kreeri and Shrai Baramulla, Police seized 1 excavator, 6 tractors, and arrested their drivers.
The Police initiated the action under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg and SDPO Kreeri assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg, SHO PS Kunzer and SHO PS Kreeri.
The police seized 1 Excavator, 6 Tractors and arrested 7 drivers identified as Abdul Lateef Wani, resident of Aarth Budgam, Asil Ahmad Dar, resident of Chichiloora, Mohd Akbar Kawa, resident of Kawapora Shadipora, Riyaz Ahmad Sofi, resident of Chichiloora, Mohd Ashraf Bhat, resident of Hanjiwera, Shakir Ahmad Bhat, resident of Wailoo Kunzer and Mushtaq Ahmad, resident of Poonch.
They were found involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals and accordingly cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
