No traffic movement on Srinagar-Leh highway for three days: SSP Traffic Rural

Srinagar, Apr 19: The Traffic Police announced on Wednesday that April 20, 21, and 22 will be traffic dry days on the Srinagar-Ladakh road. They urged people to avoid travel on the road due to repetitive snow avalanches.

SSP Traffic Rural, Ravindar Pal Singh, issued an advisory for motorists traveling on the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road.

“In view of pending widening work along Sonamarg-Minimarg stretch of SSG road, owing to continuous raining/ fresh snow fall in upper reaches of Baltal and Zoji La, 20, 21” and 22nd of April, 2023 would be “Traffic Dry Days” on Srinagar-Ladakh road,” said an advisory issued by the traffic police rural Kashmir. As such all Ladakh bound motorists are informed through the medium of this advisory that they shall avoid travel towards Ladakh on the dates designated as Traffic Day Days.

Moreover, to avoid any unpleasant incident movement of HMVs on SSG road from Gagangeer to Minimarg and vice versa is stopped till further orders.
