Sopore, July 20: Burglars struck and looted at least a dozen shops in Chota Bazar and main chowk areas of Sopore town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
Reports said that burglars decamped with cash and valuable items from the shops.
President Traders Federation Sopore, Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganaie, along with owners of shopkeepers expressed deep concern over the recent string of burglaries within the town.
Ganaie called for a thorough investigation by the police to apprehend the culprits and ensure the safety of shopkeepers and their businesses. Meanwhile, a police team from Sopore police station reached the markets and registered a case in this regard. They said that investigation is currently underway to identify burglars involved in the case.
