Day 13: NHM employees’ strike continues

Joint Employees’ Coordination Committee of NHM and other health schemes including RNTCP and NACO continued their strike on the 13th consecutive day today.

The committee had extended its protest yesterday up to 6 January. The NHM employees are demanding regularization of their services.

The employees in a statement accused the government of remaining indifferent to their plight.

“For past couple of years we are working in the department yet our services have not been regularized,” they said.

The statement said that J&K has ranked first in the health sector only “because of the hard work of the NHM employees.” “But when it comes to addressing our demands, the government looks the other way,” it said.
