Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) today said the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had “nothing to prove against its incarcerated chief Shabir Ahmad Shah and “It is the reason that he was not produced before a Delhi Court yesterday.”
“Shabir Shah was not produced in Patiala House Court today. For hours, ED told the court that Shabir Shah will be produced through video conferencing but finally the agency came with an excuse of faulty camera,” a spokesman of the Party, in a statement today, said. The spokesman said, “justice demands that Shabir Shah should be released forthwith till the accusations against him are proved but New Delhi is not only prolonging his detention but also skips courts. These tactics are to keep Shabir Shah away from the court and prolong his incarceration. New Delhi used such tactics in past as well to break the political will of Shabir Shah but it has failed each time before his steadfastness, truthfulness and straightforwardness.”
