Srinagar, Dec 3 : Police arrested two alleged drug peddlers in Kulgam and Pulwama and recovered “huge quantity of contraband substance from their possession.”
Giving details a police spokesman said, acting on specific information regarding drug peddling in Qazigund area, a police party raided a residential house at Nussu Badragund. During the raid, police party recovered huge quantity of Fukki, weighing about 100 kgs from the possession of a “notorious drug peddler.” The accused, Mohammad Amir Ganie was arrested .
Meanwhile, in Pulwama, during routine checking at Eidgah Crossing, a police party intercepted a person, Imran Rashid of Sonsamil. Ten bottles of codeine phosphate was recovered from his possession. He was arrested .
Accordingly cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigations taken up, the police spokesman said.
