Govt wakes up to ‘poor result’ in public schools

On the instructions of the Minister for Education, Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari, the Director School Education Kashmir, Dr G N Itoo accompanied by District Development Commissioner, Sajad Hussain today visited Bandipora to take stock of the educational scenario in the district in the backdrop of recently announced Matric results by J&K State Board of School Education (JKBOSE).

The Director School Education Kashmir ordered disciplinary action against the Headmasters of Govt High School Shadipora Sumbal, Govt High School Panar, Govt High School Kurara and Govt High School Leharwalpora because of “poor performance” of their schools in the results of secondary school examinations, an official handout said.

   

Instructions were given to the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Bandipora to immediately start remedial classes for the students who could not qualify the examination.

Deputy Chief Education Officer Bandipora was asked to remain available in Gurez for one week every month to personally oversee functioning of educational institutions there.
