Gunfight underway in south Kashmir’s Shopian

A gunfight broke out between the militants and the government forces at a village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday.

Reports said that the initial exchange of fire took place at3 am in Gadapora village of the district following which there was a lull until7:40 am when the gunfight started again.

   

They said that the gunfight began after the forces laid asiege to the village following inputs about the presence of militants there.

Two to three militants are believed to be trapped in thevillage, reports said.
