Srinagar Nov 17: Institute of Cost Accountants of India Srinagar chapter Tuesday organised an event in collaboration with Bemina Degree college to felicitate the pass-outs of Cost and Management Accountants.
As per an official handout, the purpose of this event was also to introduce GST as new course in the curriculum. Director Colleges J&K, Prof Yasmeen Ashai chaired the event along with Deans and Principals of other colleges.
The event was also attended by several academicians and professors. Registrar of Companies Kashmir and official Liquidator, attached to High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Haamid Bukhari was guest of the honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Bashir Masudi, the chief patron of Srinagar Chapter of ICMAI thanked all the dignitaries for their participation.
Haamid Bukhari in his address highlighted the role of professional institutions in creating awareness about such organisations in J&K so as to cater the employment opportunities in new niche career courses.
Bukhari stressed about the need of awareness about different career opportunities other than the traditional ones that currently exist. He further emphasised on the outreach by the of local chapters of Cost Accountants, Company Secretaries and Chartered Accountants in J&K so that more and more students should make diversified & market oriented career choices.
The program culminated with the launch of new GST Course for skill development by the ICAI in collaboration with Bemina Degree college as part of an MoU between ICMAI and Department of Higher Education, UT Govt of J&K.
