Kishtwar, May 8: Youth Services & Sports Department today kicked off annual intramural competition here under the guidance of DYSSO, Jaffer H Sheikh.
The initiative aims to promote sportsmanship and physical fitness among students while providing them a platform to showcase their talent.
Under the vigilant supervision of Principals and Headmasters, a variety of sporting events are being conducted within the premises of respective schools. Physical Education Masters, Physical Education Teachers, REK Teacher’s, and NYCs, have collaborated to ensure the seamless organization of tournaments spanning different games.
Preparations for the events have seen the active involvement of the entire sports fraternity, with a focus on identifying activities that resonate with the students’ interests. Teachers have played a pivotal role in imparting practical knowledge on planning, organizing, and administering play programs, thereby fostering leadership qualities among the participants.
Moreover, these intramural activities serve as a breeding ground for talent, enabling the physical staff to identify and nurture promising players across various disciplines. Such initiatives not only enhance the overall sporting culture within schools but also pave the way for participation in inter-school tournaments, where these budding athletes can further hone their skills and represent their institutions with pride.
