Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha has refuted rumours about further bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir union territory saying such rumours were “being peddled from outside countries” and by “those who have no answer to the COVID-19 management and developmental work going in the right direction” in the region.
In an exclusive interview to a private TV news channel, LG Sinha when asked by the anchor to comment on the speculations over the bifurcation of J&K UT wherein Jammu is believed to get a full statehood and Kashmir to remain a UT, said, “I strongly refute such rumours going on in India, back in J&K or I should say being propagated from outside countries”.
The LG said that such rumours were being “peddled by such people who have no answers to the COVID management, developmental work, financial prudence or boost in tourism in J&K”.
“People have no answers to this, so they turn to rumours and emotions “.
Over his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the LG said his parley with the latter was “pre-scheduled and I wanted an appointment with the PM and got it”.
