Rajouri: Success eluded the security forces engaged in the manhunt of militants in dense woods of Nar Khas in Bhata Dhurian village as the encounter entered its 15th day on Thursday.
The encounter in Nar Khas forest area of Mendhar started on October 14. So far, four army personnel have lost their lives in the exchange of gunfire between the security forces and militants.
“The encounter and massive combing operation continued for the 15th consecutive day today and the army and police teams jointly remained engaged in the manhunt of militants,” said officials.
However, success continued to elude the security forces as they could not manage to gather fresh footprints of militants inside forests at the encounter site.
“On Thursday, there was a complete lull in the area with no fresh gunfire heard from the area,” the locals informed.
Officials on the other hand said that army and police teams remained on the job as the combing operation was going on inside the forests.
