Missing minor boy’s body recovered from Sindh stream in central Kashmir’s Kangan

The body of a 15-month-old boy was recovered from a stream of the Sindh river on Thursday morning hours after he went missing from his home in Rezan area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Police said the boy has died due to drowning in the stream.

   

The minor- Waheed Ahmed Sontra, son of Mukhtar Ahmed Sontra went missing on Wednesday evening after which police accompanied by locals launched searches to trace him.

Station House officer, Police Station Gund, Lateef Ali told Greater Kashmir that the minor’s body was spotted by locals and policemen who were searching for the missing boy in Sindh stream near Kullan bridge on Thursday morning.

The body has been retrieved from the stream, Ali said adding that medico- legal formalities have been started.

SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal said on twitter that the boy had drowned in the stream near his home.

He also expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.
